She has written an E-book called "Make Money Writing" to help achieve this goal. She is also a Christian, a wife, and a homeschooling mom of boys.
June is a great time for me to get some motivation for my writing. Each year I head to Tuscaloosa for the Southern Christian Writer Conference and I am never disappointed. The conference is a great opportunity to meet writing industry professionals and also connect with other writers.
This year’s SCWC will be held on June 12 and 13. The price is only $110 and includes dinner on Friday night and lunch on Saturday afternoon. Attendees will have the chance to participate in six different small group sessions, two keynote speeches, one break out session and one panel session.
My first experience at the SCWC came just after I had received a rejection for an article I was working on getting published. I attended a session by Cheryl Wray on “How to Write a Query Letter.” Using her tips and samples I resent the same idea to the same magazine and even the same editor and she asked to actually read the manuscript this time.
The information that is presented at the SCWC is excellent and easy to implement into your writing life – but the information is not even the best part of the conference. The people that you meet and have the opportunity to interact with (from editors and publishers to new and experienced writers) is more than worth the trip.
There is still time to register for the SCWC for this June 12 and 13. Visit the website to find the registration form and to find out who will be presenting and what the different sessions will cover.
