Blogging conferences are a great way to learn great tips and to network with other bloggers at the same time. Most of them tend to be in the big cities (Chicago, New York City, Las Vegas), but there will be one in September in Birmingham!
WordCamp Birmingham will be held September 18-19th at UAB Heritage Hall. The conference cost is a VERY affordable $40, and there will be quite a lineup of great speakers and topics.
Although the central theme of the conference is regarding the Wordpress platform, I've been assured that many topics covered will be relevant to all bloggers, regardless of platform. And I'm personally hoping to be able to attend because I'd love to MOVE my blogs to Wordpress at some point in the near future, and there will be many experts on hand to help with all of the details and technicalities of such a move.
So, if you'd like the opportunity to learn more about blogging and meet other local and regional bloggers, check out the WordCamp Birmingham site, follow @wordcampbham on Twitter, and register to attend!
I've been to past WordCamps and they're a great resource for bloggers whether you use the WordPress software or their services, or not. I *HIGHLY* recommend going!
Thanks, Rachel, for this great post on WordCamp Birmingham.
As you pointed out, we're going to have a great lineup of speakers and topics, so bloggers of any skill level will be able to learn a lot. But it's not just about the seminars. Campers will have the opportunity to meet the nicest, smartest, funniest community of bloggers.
I learn so much each time I go. And I connect with some great people.
(Last year, I was fortunate to be a speaker, and I'm applying again this year.)
Come to WordCamp and find ways to jump-start your blogging.
WordCamp is awesome! You get to meet so many cool people! They will definitely help you get your blog onto WordPress.
This sounds really interesting.
